- Contemporary ceramics : in 1966, a national competition in artistic ceramics was introduced in Vallauris which two years later became known as the “Biennale Internationale de Céramique d’Art”. Its purpose is to reward contemporary creativity in ceramics at international level. Artists from Vallauris have already won awards : Roger Capron in 1970, Gilbert Portanier in 1982 and Marius Musarra in 1988. Thanks to the Biennale, the museum has been enriched by significant examples of contemporary research in the field of ceramics : work on stoneware, enamel and calligraphy
- "Art Nouveau-Art Deco" ceramics : built around the Declein Collection, rich in ceramics from the end of the 19th and early 20th centuries, this collection presents firstly the lustered ceramics created in Vallauris at that time (Massier and their followers), and secondly French and foreign ceramics from the same epoch together with contemporary ceramics by the Massier family, this time resulting from a very different kind of research, especially on stoneware.
- Ceramics from Vallauris of the ’fifties : the potters’ town distinguished itself by a achieving remarkable production throughout the 1950s. Just before Picasso arrived, several students from the School of Applied Arts in Paris had come to live and work in Vallauris : Jean Derval, Robert Picault, Roger Capron who, from 1948 to 1958, produced pieces with irregular contours in the purest ’fifties style.
